A lag between cause and effect.


At point f, the magnetizing force (current) is zero and B falls to remanence, which is the negative magnetic flux remaining after the removal of the magnetizing force H.

The value of current between f and g is the coercive force needed in the reverse direction to bring flux density down to zero (point g).

Check out Drawing 4 - it is easier to see how the current variation corresponds to the magnetizing force variation.
